Greetings from Bombo. I am sorry for a delayed update about the progress of the term that we ended in phases, on April 14th for non candidates and then April 30th for the candidates. We thank God for going through the very first successfully studied term since the outbreak of Covid-19 in 2020.

Wie immer führte der Weg mit Brussels Airlines von Berlin über Brüssel und Kigali nach Entebbe, dem internationalen Flughafen von Uganda. Im Gegensatz zu den vorigen Reisen war ein unglaublicher bürokratischer Aufwand nötig. Jedes Land, das angeflogen wurde, forderte eigene Gesundheits- und persönliche Daten, die vorher online erfasst werden mussten. Zum Glück waren sowohl unsere Autovermietung als auch alle Hotels in Betrieb.

We thank God school has reopened fully after close to two years. This does not mean that the covid-19 situation is better now, but people have somehow learnt how to live with it.

greetings from Bombo. The school remains closed up to today and there seem to be very limited chances of opening up this year. The only proposal on table is if Universities can open up for finalists only by the end of November, but this too has no official communication.

We are still under lockdown and the only chance of reopening was conditioned to vaccination of teachers and students above 18 years. This has not yet been a success due to scarcity of vaccines but in the last week, the country received some more vaccines and teachers were given special centers to get either their first or second jab. At St. Peter’s we have made efforts to see that most of our teachers are now vaccinated including us the administrators.

Last Friday the President made a communication that largely opened up the country, despite the existence of Covid-19 at its reducing levels, currently at 8% in the country. Private transport was allowed, with a driver and only two passengers and they can move across districts, with public transport allowed at half capacity.
